Do I need to sit the HPAT exam?

Non-EU status students applying for undergraduate Medicine and Dentistry places are not required to sit the HPAT exam.

When are the interviews?

Zoom/Skype interviews are held in late February and early March.

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline is January 15th for the first round of interviews in February. Late applications will be accepted on a case by case basis.

Is student accommodation available?

Yes, the IUMC assists students secure suitable accommodation.

What degrees are awarded by Irish medical schools?

Medicine: MB BCh BAO Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor in the Art of Obstetrics

Dentistry: BDS (University College Cork) and B DENT Sc (Trinity College Dublin)

Is the degree recognised internationally?

Irish degrees are held in high regard internationally and IUMC alumni progress to leadership positions in healthcare around the world.

What are the living costs in Ireland?

Living costs in Ireland depend on where you are studying in Ireland, the type of accommodation you book, and the student’s personal lifestyle.  On average, we estimate that a student will spend between €10,000 to €15,000 per academic year. Return flights not included.

How long are the medical programmes in Ireland?

There are 4, 5 and 6 year programmes available at IUMC Medical schools.
5 Year – University College Cork, University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, University of Galway
6 Year – University College Dublin and University of Galway
4 Year – University College Cork and University College Dublin
Students graduating high school can apply to 5 or 6 Year Direct Entry Medicine.

How much is the application Fee?

The application fee is €50

You can click ENQUIRE NOW on the IUMC website. Complete all the information and our team will get in touch with an application form and other important information. Candidates can then complete the application form and submit documents to our IUMC office.

Can I apply to more than one university?

All non-EU international students from the ASEAN region (including other nationalities studying in this region) can apply to the 4 IUMC partner universities with 1 simple application.

Students outside the ASEAN region can contact our team for application advice for individual universities.

Students who qualify for EU status apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO) www.cao.ie
